Which parts of the form you need to fill in

The five parts of the application form are:

  • If the discharge is trade effluent only use Forms A & E.
  • If the discharge is only sewage effluent and over 50 m3 use Forms A & B.
  • If the discharge is only sewage effluent and under 50 m3 use Forms A & C.
  • If the discharge is sewage effluent containing trade effluent use Forms A & B.
  • If the Discharge is intermittent or emergency sewage effluent discharge use Forms A & D.
  • If the application its to vary an existing discharge please use the same forms.

Everyone must fill in Part A. This asks for the information we need about you, and the site you plan to discharge effluent from.

Transferring a consent to discharge

Costs

Environment Agency Standard Application Charge is £825.00 until (20/07/2008)

Environment Agency Reduced Application Charge is £117.00 until (20/07/2008) this applies if discharging:

  • domestic sewage effluent of 5 cubic metres a day or less
  • sewage effluent from a trade premises (e.g. Public House) of 5 cubic metres a day or less
  • cooling water of 10 cubic meters or less
  • surface water
  • site drainage
  • substances disposed of onto or into land with volumes of 5 cubic meters per day or less and discharged on no more than 6 days per year.

Discharge Consents are exempt of V.A.T.

Charging for discharges (CfD) charges

The Environment Agency charges to recover the costs of issuing discharge consents and monitoring discharges and their impact on receiving waters. Discharges to controlled waters from activities subject to Pollution Prevention and Control or Waste Management Licensing regimes are charged under the schemes applicable to those regimes.
